Urban Expedition: Colombia!
Bring on the Heat! Travel the World without Leaving St. Paul!
St. Paul, MN – Bring on the Heat! Landmark Center’s popular Urban Expedition series makes its way to warmer weather on Sunday, February 28, 2010 when it stops in Colombia!
Families can celebrate the Colombian culture and enjoy a range of activities including arts and crafts, salsa lessons, language lessons and performances by Fuego Latino Colombian Dance Group. The event is from 1pm-3pm and it’s free and open to the public.
Kids and adults alike get a passport and enjoy authentic cultural experiences from around the world. The Urban Expedition program (http://www.landmarkcenter.org/ue.html) draws on the Twin Cities’ rich multi-cultural array of performers, artists, chefs, and other community members sharing their heritage with both their own community and Twin Cities’ community at large. Urban Expedition is made possible with support from Travelers Foundation.
In addition, Landmark Center has partnered with community organization, Hallie Q. Brown Food Shelf (www.hallieqbrown.org), who will be hosting food drives at each of the Urban Expedition programs in order to benefit those members of our community in need. The public is encouraged to bring non-perishable food items.
